Tunbridge Wells Friends of the Earth is the local branch of a national organization, which in turn is part of a global movement. We are connected with other local environmental groups, and help to give local people a voice on climate change and climate action, for a more sustainable way of life.

We meet monthly, on a weekday evening, at a central Tunbridge Wells venue, and new members or anyone interested in finding out more are always welcome! Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 9th September 2026 at Saint John’s Yard, 66 St John’s Road, Tunbridge Wells at 7.30pm. For full details please contact us.

Check out our Art Campaign!

We hold an annual art exhibition, and our last exhibition ran from 22 October 2025 to 2 November 2025 at Trinity Art Gallery in Tunbridge Wells. We intend to hold another exhibition in 2026, and we’ll provide information about it here when the arrangements are finalised. We want to encourage everyone to submit works of art, poetry and writing in support of planet Earth and in response to the urgency of climate change. Water Quality monitoring

We’ve started a new project monitoring the health of three of our local rivers and streams – the Barden Mill stream in Tunbridge Wells, the Teise at Lamberhurst and the Medway in Tonbridge. We’re aiming to establish the general health of these watercourses and looking out for signs of acute pollution. Visit this page for more information.
