Our local Friends of the Earth group started in 2005. We frequently network with other local environmental groups and support the students’ movement in taking action on climate change. We also work closely with the Tunbridge Wells Town Forum to encourage the Council to deliver on carbon neutral targets. Ultimately, our goal is to keep our planet liveable and well-preserved for future generations!
We are a friendly group of residents who enjoy the social and campaigning aspects of local activism. You can share what you’re passionate about through our social media channels and monthly meetings, as well as engage in campaigns and focus groups.

Our campaigns:
We support national Friends of the Earth in their campaigns against pollution and climate change, such as anti-fracking, single-use plastics, clean air, and climate action. We also encourage active travel in Tunbridge Wells—walking, scooting, cycling—and clean public transport to deal with local congestion and air pollution.
We are also a public collection point for flexible plastic cheese packaging, nets and pouches plus sliced cheese protective plastic film (any brand) that we send off to TerraCycle for recycling, so please drop off your empty chest packaging at 44 Mount Ephraim in Tunbridge Wells.
You can find out more about our campaigns here.
